WOTR brings together practitioners, academics, researchers, trainers, and policy makers to work collaboratively in building the resilience of rural communities. Our partners, including donors and government agencies stand resolutely behind us to affect this. Over the course of 32 years, we have already made a significant impact, having worked in 10 states and 7,255 villages, and positively impacting the lives of about 8 million people. ABOUT W-CReS: The WOTR Centre for Resilience Studies (W-CReS) Pune was established in December 2016, with a focus on Research-into-Use. It subsumes and builds on the Knowledge Management Unit’s work of the preceding 7 years. W-CReS closely engages with local communities, practitioners, scientific, governance and other institutional actors so that insights and good practices derived from ground experience contribute towards shaping effective policies and efficient program implementation. W-CReS aims to bridge some of the gaps between science, policy and practice through rigorous trans-disciplinary applied research, policy engagement and capacity building leading to behavioral change. The studies and research undertaken at W-CReS aim to promote adaptive responses and mitigate the impacts of climate change on ecosystems, water resources, agriculture, food and nutrition, health, livelihoods, gender, governance and local institutions. This is imperative in a country like India, whose nature-based and agriculture sector as well as water resources are expected to be severely affected by climate change in the years to come. A brief snapshot of the role: WOTR is seeking a skilled and innovative Graphic Designer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing compelling visual narratives that showcase our work in rural India. You'll design polished, impactful graphics that effectively communicate our mission and achievements. As a Graphic Designer,you will be responsibl e for: Develop and maintain a consistent brand identity across all digital channels. Design creative and impactful visuals for social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.). Create motion graphics and video snippets to enhance engagement. Build communication materials and templates for newsletters, banners, reports and promotional campaigns. Collaborate with the team to produce high-quality visual assets for exhibitions and events. Create branded assets, like mailers, reports, blogs, internal communication material etc. Use AI tools to create cutting-edge graphics and videos. Apply if yo u have: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience). At least 1 year of proven experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio of body of work Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) Proficient in the latest AI technology Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and composition. Experience in video editing and motion graphics. Knowledge of social media algorithms and best practices for visual content. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team and with external partners/vendors Willingness to travel to rural areas for on-location shoots when required.
