IT Project Manager — Chennai (Full-time)

About The Opportunity

A leading player in the IT services and enterprise software development sector, we deliver digital transformation, custom application development, and IT infrastructure solutions to clients across industries. We are hiring in Chennai for a hands-on Project Manager to run medium-to-large IT projects, coordinate cross-functional delivery teams, and ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes.Role & Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery for assigned IT projects: define scope, build detailed plans, track milestones, and drive on-time, on-budget delivery.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (dev, QA, infra, UX, BA) and act as single point of contact for stakeholders and clients.
Manage project finances: create and monitor budgets, forecast resource needs, and control costs to meet financial targets.
Apply Agile and/or Waterfall practices depending on project needs—run sprint planning, stand-ups, retros, and stage-gate reviews.
Proactively identify risks and issues, implement mitigation plans, escalate when necessary, and keep stakeholders informed with concise status reports.
Maintain project documentation (charter, plans, RAID logs, change requests) and ensure delivery meets quality standards and SLAs.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
3+ years of hands-on project management experience in IT/software development environments.
Proven experience with Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall methodologies and tooling like Jira/Confluence and MS Project.
Strong stakeholder management, verbal and written communication skills, and client-facing experience.
Solid understanding of SDLC, QA processes, and release management.
Preferred
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or CSM) and experience managing distributed teams.
Experience in budget ownership, vendor management, and delivering multiple concurrent projects.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and basic scripting or CI/CD concepts.
