About the Organization


DITO Social Welfare Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in underserved rural communities through sustainable development initiatives. Our programs focus on livelihoods, education, health, WASH, women empowerment, and climate-resilient community development.


Position Overview


The Project Officer will play a central role in planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on community development projects in remote rural villages. The role requires strong community engagement skills, the ability to work independently in challenging field conditions, and a commitment to participatory, inclusive development.


Key Responsibilities


1. Project Implementation

  • Coordinate and execute community development activities in alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, awareness campaigns, and community mobilization activities.
  • Support the formation and strengthening of village-level committees, SHGs, youth groups, and community institutions.
  • Ensure activities are delivered in a culturally appropriate, gender-sensitive, and inclusive manner.

2. Community Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local leaders, government departments, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and address community concerns.
  • Encourage community participation and ownership of project activities.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Collect and document field data, success stories, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Prepare timely reports, including weekly/monthly progress updates.
  • Coordinate with the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) team for data collection and assessments.

4. Administrative & Logistical Support

  • Maintain project documentation, attendance sheets, procurement requests, and field expense records.
  • Assist in organizing field events, training programs, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure effective management of project resources and compliance with organizational policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Sociology, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in community development, rural projects, or NGO sector.
  • Experience working in remote rural areas is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of participatory rural appraisal (PRA) tools and community-based approaches.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trust and work respectfully with diverse community groups.
  • Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in report writing and basic computer usage (MS Office, data entry).
  • Ability to travel extensively and stay in remote field locations.
  • Cultural sensitivity, patience, and resilience.
