Job Summary: We seek a seasoned Project Head to lead a premium school campus built to international standards. The role covers concept design, statutory approvals, procurement, construction, fit-outs, commissioning, and handover. The successful candidate will deliver projects on time and on budget while ensuring regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and high-quality execution. The role requires strong project management and construction management capabilities, experience in vendor management and MEP coordination, and a deep understanding of school infrastructure requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Design Coordination
- Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, interior, and landscape teams and integrate design inputs into the project plan; ensure effective MEP coordination across disciplines.
- Secure statutory approvals and NOCs from relevant authorities.
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk registers; conduct regular site reviews to confirm design intent and workmanship and apply strong project management practices throughout.
- Ensure design and delivery align with school infrastructure standards and education-specific requirements.
- Procurement & Contracting
- Lead consultant/contractor selection, manage tendering, and negotiate contracts to optimize cost and delivery; apply vendor management best practices to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Act as the single point of contact across management, designers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment and timely decisions.
- Project Execution & Construction Management
- Oversee civil works, MEP installations, fit-outs, and finishes; resolve technical and coordination issues promptly through effective construction management processes.
- Monitor workmanship, safety, and compliance with specifications and standards; implement quality control and commissioning plans tailored to school infrastructure.
- Budget & Cost Management
- Prepare and control project budgets and cash flows, track expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising core quality.
- Stakeholder & Regulatory Liaison
- Coordinate with statutory bodies (e.g., AAI, BESCOM, BSNL, Fire, Education Department) and provide concise progress updates to stakeholders and school leadership.
- Manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication on construction milestones and school-specific operational requirements.
- Commissioning & Handover
- Ensure completion of documentation and certifications, manage punch lists and the defect liability period, and coordinate a smooth transition to the operations team; ensure MEP systems are commissioned and handed over with full validation for school operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Must-haves)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- 15+ years’ experience delivering large institutional or educational campuses end-to-end.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, construction management, vendor management, MEP coordination, and delivery of school infrastructure projects.
- Strong project planning, procurement, construction management, and handover experience.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, green building standards, and education-specific requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and project documentation tools.
- Proven leadership in managing budgets, schedules, and multi-disciplinary teams; strong communicator.
- Experience obtaining statutory approvals and liaising with government authorities.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-haves)
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Project/Construction Management (e.g., PMP).
- Experience developing CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE-compliant campuses and specialist facilities (auditoriums, sports, smart classrooms).
- Familiarity with green building certification (IGBC, GRIHA, LEED) and long-term vendor relationship management.
