Program Manager – Software Development Team

Purpose Of The Role

Scope Of Responsibilities

• Define program scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain program roadmaps, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
• Ensure deliverables meet agreed quality standards and timelines.
  

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for program updates and escalations.
• Facilitate communication between engineering, product, QA, UX, and business teams.
• Manage expectations and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
  

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks proactively.
• Resolve conflicts and remove delivery roadblocks.
• Maintain a risk register and track resolution progress.
  

Process & Quality Improvement

• Implement and refine Agile/Scrum/SAFe practices.
• Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
• Conduct retrospectives and integrate learnings into future programs.
  

Metrics & Reporting

• Define and track KPIs (velocity, defect rates, delivery predictability, etc.).
• Provide transparent, data-driven status reports to leadership.
• Use metrics to drive decision-making and process optimization.
  

Education

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor’s / Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering
• PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification preferred.
  

Experience

• 5+ years in program/project management within software development.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-team programs.
• Experience with Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
  

Skills

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
