The Thomson Reuters’ Program Manager is a vital program leadership role within our Professional Services Organization, a $100 Million dollar business at Thomson Reuters. This position is central to ensuring the successful execution, delivery, and financial performance of client-facing programs. It involves strategic oversight of Global Accounts program portfolios, direct responsibility for project team management and deliverables. Success in this high-impact role demands sharp strategic thinking, strong problem-solving abilities, and exceptional influence to drive operational excellence and promote both client and Thomson Reuters’ stakeholder satisfaction.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Client Project Management – Global Accounts, the Program Manager will be part of the PMO Program Management group, at Thomson Reuters. Primary key stakeholder relationships will include our GAM & GAM+ customer base, and our senior leadership at Thomson Reuters.

In this opportunity, as Program Manager, Client Project Management, you will:

Key Responsibilities:

Program Governance & Oversight

  • Lead governance across multiple related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and benefits realization across workstreams.
  • Maintain a strategic view of customer challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.

Planning & Delivery

  • Develop detailed project charters, statements of work, and plans using methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.
  • Oversee execution of complex programs, including those involving multiple business units or customized deliverables.
  • Ensure successful implementation of contractual obligations and strategic initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the central point of contact for clients and internal teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, including senior leadership, sales, product, and operations.
  • Build strong relationships to influence decisions and drive accountability.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Maintain and actively manage risk registers.
  • Identify potential issues early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Direct and manage Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) for prospective clients when required.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide regular status updates and presentations to leadership.
  • Implement project management best practices and drive process improvements.
  • Monitor progress, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency.

About you:

You are a fit for the position of Program Manager, Client Project Management if your background includes:

  • Required Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, professional services, or software implementation, with at least 8 years in a direct leadership role managing large teams of project managers or project delivery consultants.
    • Demonstrated expertise in strategic portfolio management, with proven accountability for achieving utilization and aggressive revenue targets in a Professional Services setting.
    • Extensive experience delivering enterprise software solutions, preferably in SaaS/Cloud environments, within a client-facing professional services or consulting setting.
    • Proficient in managing full project lifecycles, including comprehensive budget and resource allocation.
    • Proven ability to lead large-scale initiatives across multiple teams and geographies.

  • Core Skills
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to influence decisions at all organizational levels.
    • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall) and tools like MS Project or similar platforms.

  • Work Environment & Flexibility:
    • Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid work environment, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the Hyderabad office, and as business needs require.
    • Requires considerable flexibility to accommodate global time zones, regularly attending meetings aligned with US business hours (predominantly mornings US EST and CST).
    • Annual travel up to 35%, with potential for some periods exceeding 50% monthly, to which ample advance notice will be provided.

  • Education & Certifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) or equivalent practical experience.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or similar recognized project management certification is highly preferred.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in the Tax industry, Tax technology, tax products, or functional knowledge of SaaS implementations and ERP system integrations (e.g., SAP, Oracle Fusion).
    • Experience working with global and/or virtual teams.
    • Familiarity with identifying and developing upsell opportunities within assigned customer projects.
