The Production Manager will oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations for nutraceutical and Ayurvedic products including juices, powders, and capsules. The role involves managing daily production activities, ensuring compliance with GMP, Ayush, FSSAI, and quality standards, maintaining production efficiency, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and control production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing targets.
• Oversee production of juices, powders, and capsule formulations as per defined SOPs.
• Optimize production processes to improve yield, reduce wastage, and increase productivity.
• Maintain production records, batch manufacturing records (BMR), and batch packaging records (BPR).

2. Quality Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

• Ensure production is carried out in accordance with GMP, ISO, HACCP, AYUSH, and FSSAI guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols.
• Review and update SOPs, work instructions, and compliance documents as required.

3. Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Supervise and train production staff, line operators, and shift supervisors.
• Ensure manpower allocation across shifts and maintain discipline on the production floor.
• Conduct regular training sessions on hygiene, safety, SOPs, and process improvements.

4. Equipment & Plant Maintenance

• Coordinate with engineering/maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery (mixers, pulverizers, capsule filling machines, juice extractors, dryers, etc.).
• Ensure calibration, cleaning, and validation of production equipment.

5. Inventory & Material Management

• Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of materials.
• Minimize inventory losses through proper planning and monitoring.

6. Health, Safety & Hygiene Management

• Enforce strong hygiene and safety practices on the shop floor.
• Ensure staff adherence to PPE usage and safety protocols.
• Conduct periodic safety audits and hazard assessments.

7. Continuous Improvement & Cost Control

• Identify areas for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction.
• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other process-improvement tools.
• Drive initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance machine utilization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Ayurveda, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in nutraceutical, Ayurvedic, herbal, or food manufacturing (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of production lines for juices, powders, and capsules.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (GMP, FSSAI, AYUSH, ISO).
• Experience in managing teams and working in a fast-paced production environment.
