Production Head

Key Responsibilities:

1. Foundry Operations (CI Casting):

• Oversee all CI casting processes: pattern making, core making, molding, melting, pouring, shakeout, fettling, and heat treatment.
• Ensure compliance with metallurgical and dimensional standards for gray and ductile iron castings.
• Monitor casting yields, reduce rework/rejections, and improve process consistency.

2. Machine Shop Operations:

• Manage end-to-end machining of cast components (CNC, VMC, HMC, lathe, grinding, drilling, etc.).
• Ensure components are machined to the required tolerances, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy.
• Coordinate tool planning, fixture development, cycle time optimization, and machine utilization.
• Work with CAD/CAM teams and CNC programmers for process planning and tool path generation.
• Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and preventive maintenance for machining equipment.

3. Production Planning & Control:

• Develop and execute integrated production plans for foundry and machine shop.
• Balance foundry output with machining capacity to avoid bottlenecks or idle time.
• Ensure on-time delivery of fully machined castings to customers.

4. Team Leadership:

• Lead cross-functional teams in foundry and machine shop – operators, supervisors, and engineers.
• Conduct skill assessments, training programs, and workforce planning.

5. Quality Management:

• Implement and maintain quality systems (ISO 9001 / TS 16949 / IATF 16949 as applicable).
• Coordinate with QC and QA for in-process inspections, dimensional checks, NDT, and final audits.
• Drive continual improvement through root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

6. Maintenance & Asset Management:

• Coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdown prevention and reduction.
• Monitor performance of key foundry and machining equipment (furnaces, molding lines, CNC machines, etc.).

7. Inventory & Cost Control:

• Plan and manage raw material (scrap, pig iron, alloy), consumables, and tooling inventory.
• Control production costs through scrap reduction, yield improvement, and energy efficiency.

8. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

• Ensure adherence to all safety standards and environmental regulations in both foundry and machining units.
• Conduct safety drills and implement 5S and EHS practices.

9. Reporting & KPIs:

• Maintain MIS reports on production, quality, machine utilization, OEE, rejection rates, etc.
• Present daily/weekly/monthly performance data to top management.

10. Customer Coordination:

• Ensure timely delivery of fully machined castings as per customer requirements.
• Handle customer audits, technical queries, and quality complaints effectively.

Experience Required:

• 10+ years in a leadership role in CI Casting & Machine Shop operations.
• Strong understanding of cast iron metallurgy and machining processes.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume production with quality and cost efficiency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
