Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and technically strong Product Design Engineer with experience ranging from fresh graduates to seasoned professionals. This role encompasses product development, fixture and tooling design, and production improvement projects to drive manufacturing efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products based on customer requirements and market needs
• Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing
• Design fixtures, jigs, and tooling to improve production efficiency and quality
• Conduct design reviews and coordinate with production team for manufacturability assessment
• Lead production improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce cycle time, and lower costs
• Analyze existing products and processes to identify opportunities for optimization
• Collaborate with production team to resolve manufacturing challenges through design modifications
• Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, and change orders
• Support prototyping and testing of new designs
• Coordinate with vendors for tooling fabrication and component sourcing
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (API 6A, ASME, etc.) and customer specifications
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing principles
• Provide technical support to production, quality, and customer service teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: Fresh graduates to experienced professionals (all levels considered)
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, or other 3D CAD platforms)
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles and manufacturing processes
• Experience or knowledge in product design, fixture design, or production improvement projects
• Ability to create detailed engineering drawings with proper dimensioning and tolerancing
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills to interact with production, quality, and management teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and simulation software
• Strong knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Understanding of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, and heat treatment
• Experience with API 6A or oilfield product design
• Knowledge of materials and metallurgy
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
• Knowledge of reverse engineering techniques
