Job Summary:

Procurement Trainer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Delivery:

  • Conduct engaging training sessions (classroom, virtual, or blended) on procurement processes, strategic sourcing, vendor management, and ERP systems.
  • Provide hands-on training in contract negotiation strategies, supplier risk assessment, and cost optimization techniques.
  • Curriculum Development:

  • Design and update training materials, case studies, and practical simulations tailored to the medical devices, automotive, and electrical industries.
  • Develop e-learning modules for procurement processes, supplier scorecards, and sourcing workflows.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work with procurement leaders, supply chain managers, and quality teams to align training with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with ERP/IT teams to train users on system transactions, dashboards, and procurement analytics.
  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify gaps in procurement processes and recommend improvements.
  • Train teams on regulatory compliance, sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Performance Evaluation:

  • Assess trainees’ skills and provide constructive feedback.
  • Track training effectiveness using KPIs such as cycle time reduction, cost savings, and supplier performance improvement.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

    – experience in identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers.
  • Vendor Management & Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)

    – including supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and development programs.
  • Contract Negotiation & Risk Management

    – strong knowledge of commercial terms, SLAs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Cost Reduction & Value Engineering

    – proven track record in cost-saving initiatives and process optimization.
  • Supply Planning & Inventory Management

    – ability to integrate procurement planning with production demand.
  • ERP Systems Expertise

    – SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar procurement modules.
  • Cross-Industry Knowledge

    – exposure to procurement processes in medical devices, automotive, electrical, and other manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver practical, industry-specific training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or Business Administration with

    10+ years of experience

    .
  • Certifications such as

    CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, and CIPS

    are preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager/Lead prior to becoming a trainer.
