Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Head

Location: Pune

Reports To: Managing Director / Head of Projects

Role Objective:

To lead and manage the end-to-end procurement function for Data center, stadium, factory building, residential, industrial and warehouse construction projects, ensuring cost-efficient, timely, and quality procurement of materials, equipment, and services. The Procurement Head will play a strategic role in vendor management, contract negotiations, and supply chain optimization to support smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project and organizational goals.
  • Forecast material requirements in coordination with Project, Design, and Planning teams.
  • Establish procurement budgets, cost-saving initiatives, and supplier performance metrics.

2. Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for civil, structural steel, PEB, MEP, and finishing works.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms to optimize cost and cash flow.
  • Build long-term relationships with key vendors and ensure supplier compliance with quality and safety standards.

3. Procurement Operations

  • Lead tendering, bid evaluation, and contract finalization for materials, equipment, and subcontracting.
  • Ensure timely release of Purchase Orders (POs) to avoid project delays.
  • Monitor logistics, delivery schedules, and inventory management in coordination with site teams.
  • Implement ERP/Procurement software systems for process transparency and efficiency.

4. Cost Control & Value Engineering

  • Drive cost reduction through alternate sourcing, vendor consolidation, and value engineering.
  • Benchmark industry prices to ensure competitiveness and cost efficiency.
  • Resolve claims, disputes, and ensure favorable commercial terms.

5. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, company policies, and ethical procurement practices.
  • Maintain proper documentation, audit trails, and procurement MIS reports.
  • Establish risk management frameworks for procurement and supply chain.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
  • Define SOPs, policies, and procurement workflows.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and vendor partnership.
