Job Title: Power BI Engineer

Location: Dubai / Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

The Power BI Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models that provide actionable business insights. This role involves collaborating closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT teams to ensure data-driven decision-making is accessible, reliable, and impactful across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business needs.

Build, optimize, and maintain robust data models using Power BI Desktop and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into Power BI datasets ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to gather requirements and translate them into technical BI solutions.

Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning on Power BI reports and data models.

Implement row-level security and data governance policies within Power BI environments.

Automate data refresh schedules and monitor dashboard performance and usage metrics.

Create and maintain technical documentation for BI solutions, processes, and data sources.

Stay updated on latest Power BI features, tools, and best practices to continuously improve reporting solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.

3+ years of experience in Power BI development or similar business intelligence roles.

Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power Query (M), and DAX functions.

Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation from relational databases.

Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL tools is an advantage.

Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance best practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Preferred Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI)

Additional BI platform certifications (Tableau, Qlik) is a plus
