Job Description – Head of Site Security / Security Manager
Job Objective: The role is responsible for managing end-to-end site security operations in alignment with business objectives and the Security Strategy Roadmap. The position ensures the protection of people, infrastructure, and assets (tangible and intangible), while driving a safe, secure, and compliant environment across the site.
Key Responsibilities Security Strategy & Governance Align site security strategy with group security policies and contribute to the long-term Security Roadmap.
Lead strategic initiatives at site/plant level to ensure operational excellence.
Plan, monitor, and control security budgets (CapEx and OpEx) and ensure adherence.
Conduct periodic reviews of ongoing initiatives and present updates to governance councils.
Security Risk Management & Audits Conduct security risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and mitigation measures.
Establish intelligence networks with local authorities, community, and media for proactive risk management.
Monitor security infrastructure (access control, traffic management, surveillance, technology) and close gaps within defined timelines.
Facilitate internal and external audits, ensure timely action on findings, and maintain audit readiness.
Crisis & Incident Management Design and implement Emergency Response and Control Plans (ERCP) for crisis situations.
Lead incident response, supervise Quick Reaction Teams (QRT), and ensure business continuity during emergencies.
Incorporate learnings from past incidents into improved readiness strategies.
Security Operations Monitor adherence to SOPs/SOGs and publish periodic MIS reports for senior leadership.
Oversee control room operations, surveillance systems, patrolling, and access control processes.
Manage business traffic and logistics security to minimize disruption and ensure compliance.
Conduct investigations into incidents, fraud, theft, or misconduct and provide timely reports to leadership.
Implement measures to protect both tangible and intangible assets as per “ring security” principles.
Performance & People Management Define and monitor KPIs for site security performance; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage outsourced security personnel, ensuring compliance with standards and welfare of deployed staff.
Lead recruitment, performance reviews, and training of in-house security staff.
Foster a culture of alertness, vigilance, and proactive risk management across the site.
Project Management Lead security infrastructure and automation projects in alignment with group security guidelines.
Ensure timely project execution with measurable ROI and smooth integration into operations.
Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Security, or relevant field.
Postgraduate degree preferred.
Value-add certifications: CPP, CFE, TAPA, PSP, PMP, or other Industrial Security certifications.
Experience Requirements Major Site (Large-Scale Operations)12+ years of experience in security management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role reporting directly to Site Head.
Proven track record in access control, traffic management, infrastructure protection, fraud investigations, and surveillance systems for large multi-site organizations.
Strong exposure to crisis management, compliance, and budget planning.
Medium/Minor Site 10+ years of experience in security operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role for mid-sized organizations.
Experience managing access control, de-risking, fraud prevention, and people protection.
Preferred Experience & Skills Military background preferred.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
Proven expertise in implementing latest security technologies and automation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Robust knowledge of investigation techniques and regulatory compliance.
