Job Description

Location:Sameerwadi, Karnataka

Department: Human Resources / Industrial RelationsKey Responsibilities

Industrial Relations & Union Handling

  • Independently handle union negotiations, collective bargaining, long-term wage settlements, and grievance redressal.

  • Build and sustain positive relations with trade unions, workmen representatives, and labour authorities.

  • Anticipate and resolve disputes proactively, ensuring uninterrupted operations.

  • Provide expert advice to management on IR strategies, labour laws, and dispute prevention.

Compliance & Statutory Management

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all labour legislations, including:

    • Industrial Disputes Act

    • Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act

    • Factories Act

    • Other applicable central and state laws

  • Liaise with statutory authorities, manage inspections, and represent the company in legal/conciliation proceedings when required.

  • Prepare accurate statutory records, returns, and MIS for audits and management.

Employee Relations & Welfare

  • Handle day-to-day grievance management of employees and workmen, ensuring timely resolution and trust-building.

  • Oversee canteen management and other welfare facilities, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and compliance.

  • Monitor absenteeism, discipline, and productivity at the shop floor.

  • Drive employee communication forums, welfare programs, and engagement activities.

Plant HR Operations

  • Oversee workforce planning, time office, payroll inputs, and contract labour management.

  • Support manpower planning across permanent, FTC, apprentices, and third-party contract workforce.

  • Assist in training, safety, and compliance awareness initiatives for employees and contract labour.

  • Mentor and guide the junior HR team in handling HR & IR operations.

Key Requirements

Education:

  • MBA / MSW / PGDM in HR, IR, or Labour Welfare (preferred from reputed institutes).

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of overall HR experience in manufacturing / process industries.

  • 8-10 years of strong IR experience with hands-on exposure to unions, settlements, and labour administration.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of Industrial Disputes Act, Contract Labour Law, Factories Act, and allied legislations.

  • Proven experience in grievance handling, disciplinary procedures, and dispute resolution.

  • Practical exposure to canteen and welfare management in large plants.

  • Strong networking with labour authorities, government departments, and industry associations.

  • High resilience and integrity while managing sensitive IR matters.

  • Leadership potential to grow into a Plant HR Head role.
