Job Description

The Manager of Human Resources will be a strategic partner to Plant Operations, responsible for the systematic implementation of HR strategies and processes. The core mandate is to leverage human resources for enhanced people productivity, build high-quality teams, focus on cost optimization, and ensure harmonious Industrial Relations (IR), maintaining zero work stoppages.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Industrial & Employee Relations (IR/ER)

  • Union Management: Effectively manage relations with multiple trade unions to ensure zero work stoppages due to labor unrest.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engage with internal and external leaders/stakeholders to maintain and foster harmonious industrial relations.
  • Trust Building: Build and maintain a high level of trust and cordiality with Unions.
  • Business Alignment: Drive monthly Union & Management meetings to promote business understanding and secure Union confidence in driving key business priorities.

2. Compliance & Contract Labour Management

  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with all statutes applicable to the factory, including all work norms and practices agreed upon in any Long-Term Settlement (LTS).
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to the Workplace Rights Policy guidelines.
  • Contract Labour: Guarantee the timely availability of contract labor and work closely with labor contractors to ensure 100% statutory and operational compliance.

3. Talent Management & Development

  • Recruitment: Lead the recruitment and talent building efforts, particularly at the workmen and staff levels, to align with plant operational requirements.
  • Training & Development: Develop a Training Calendar based on identified training needs and systematically execute the training programs for skill enhancement.
  • HR Routines: Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages and all related payments.
  • System Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all guidelines for HR Transformation, Payroll, and other HR Systems, without deviation.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate

    degree in Human Resources (HR) or a related field.

Experience

  • A minimum of

    9 years

    of dedicated HR experience with strong

    factory/plant exposure

Functional Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in Industrial Relations (handling multiple unions, grievance management, settlements) and Contract Labour Management.
  • Strong organizational policy expertise across HR regulations, Compensation & Benefits (C&B), Performance Management Systems (PMS), and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
  • Proven and effective experience in core HR functions: Recruitment, Compensation, Policy formulation, PMS, and Exit Management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively develop and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders.
