Key Responsibilities:
1. Manufacturing & Operations Management
· Oversee all plant operations to achieve production, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
· Drive operational efficiency, waste reduction, and resource optimization.
· Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality parameters.
· Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production metrics and take corrective actions where needed.
2. Process Excellence & Systems Implementation
· Establish and sustain manufacturing best practices across all functional areas.
· Introduce self-inspection, in-process quality assurance, and preventive maintenance systems.
· Implement lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Strengthen data-driven decision-making and reporting systems for plant operations.
3. Vendor & Logistics Coordination
· Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and logistics partners for raw material pickup, inbound materials, and finished goods dispatch.
· Work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure efficient inventory control and material flow.
· Drive cost efficiency and process reliability in logistics and dispatch operations.
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
· Enforce strict compliance with all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and statutory norms applicable to chemical manufacturing.
· Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions.
· Liaise with local authorities for statutory approvals, renewals, and inspections.
· Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout the plant.
5. People Leadership & Culture Building
· Lead, motivate, and develop the plant team to deliver consistent operational performance.
· Build a culture of accountability, process ownership, and teamwork.
· Identify training needs and enhance team capabilities across technical and behavioural areas.
· Foster a performance-driven, transparent, and disciplined work environment.
6. Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
· Implement initiatives to improve yield, reduce downtime, and optimize production costs.
· Benchmark and introduce modern manufacturing practices to enhance plant competitiveness.
· Support automation and digitalization initiatives to enhance process efficiency.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Coordinate with SBUs, Supply Chain, HR, QA, Lab, and R&D teams to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
· Support new product trials, quality validations, and scale-up activities in collaboration with R&D.
· Participate in business reviews and provide operational insights to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
· B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
· 15-20 years of experience in chemical / pigment / paint / coatings manufacturing companies, with at least 2–3 years managing a plant independently.
· Experience in setting up or stabilizing plant operations, process control, and productivity improvement will be preferred.
· Strong knowledge of EHS, quality systems, and statutory compliance.
· Experience in vendor and logistics coordination preferred.
