Position- Planning Engineer

Location- Chennai

Project Type - Industrial


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support in Planning and Scheduling, assist in the preparation and updating of project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). Ensure that project timelines are realistic and achievable by coordinating with various teams.
  • Track project progress, comparing actual progress to planned schedules, and identify potential delays or risks that could impact the timeline. Assist in implementing corrective actions if required.
  • Assist in identifying and allocating resources (labor, equipment, materials) required to meet project schedules and objectives. Work with team members to adjust resource plans as needed.
  • Monitor project costs and compare them against planned budgets. Assist the Planning Manager in maintaining cost-effective project plans and ensuring that any changes are aligned with the project budget.
  • Identify and assess project risks related to time, cost, and resources. Help develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues before they become critical.
  • Prepare regular reports, including project progress updates, look-ahead schedules, and variance analysis reports, for the project team and senior management. Ensure all project documentation is kept up-to-date and accurately reflects the status.
  • Monitor and document any changes to project scope, timeline, or resources. Assist in updating project schedules and communicating changes to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all planning activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Maintain accurate project schedules and logs.
  • Provide support to the Planning Manager or Project Manager in overall project management tasks, ensuring a smooth flow of communication and coordination between different teams.


Qualifications:

  • BE in Civil Engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • MS Project working knowledge
  • Good in MIS reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
