The role involves working in the BFSI domain, enhancing and maintaining Perl-based applications that power critical data integration, automation, and risk analytics workflows. Future specialist will design efficient solutions that ensure smooth data flow and high system performance within a leading investment management platform
Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining large-scale Perl applications.
- Perform application modifications and enhancements based on business needs.
- Develop clean, high-quality, and reusable code based on programming standards.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to clearly understand business requirements and expectations.
- Stay abreast with the latest trends in application development techniques and technologies.
- Suggest optimal application development solutions to meet or exceed business objectives.
- Develop best practices to ensure coding efficiency and quality.
- Analyze and resolve coding issues in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and maintain coding documentation for reference purposes.
- Prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Complete the assigned development tasks within deadlines.
- Report project status to the Manager on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Perl scripting and application development.
- Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Perl (OO Perl) concepts.
- Experience with Perl DBI module for database interaction.
- Good experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries- we have to ensure basic SQL query tests are part of the evaluation process.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.).
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Experience in writing unit tests for Perl code.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Basic understanding of REST API development and integration.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with other languages (Python, Bash).
- Exposure to data processing workflows.
- Understanding of performance tuning and monitoring tools
- Already shared. This will be for BFSI domain.
