Role Overview

We are looking for a Performance Marketing Intern who is analytical, detail-oriented & comfortable owning campaigns end-to-end. The role focuses primarily on lead generation for local businesses through Google Ads and Meta Ads, using a mix of manual optimization and AI-powered workflows. You will be responsible for setting up, executing and optimizing campaigns, collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure fast, accurate and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, set up and manage lead generation campaigns on Google Ads & Meta Ads for a variety of local business clients.
  • Create & structure campaigns, ad sets and ad groups, including keyword research, audience selection and targeting.
  • Write and refine ad copies, headlines and descriptions aligned with client objectives and audience intent.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis and audience research to inform campaign strategy and experimentation.
  • Use AI tools to support campaign creation, analysis and reporting, while ensuring the final output is relevant, high quality and human-reviewed.
  • Prepare performance reports and summaries in Google Sheets or Excel, highlighting insights, learnings and next steps.

Must-Have Skills And Experience

  • Prior experience in performance marketing focused on Google Ads with at least one internship or full-time role working hands-on on campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of Google Ads (Search campaigns at minimum; PMax, Display or YouTube is a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) for tracking and events.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign data and translate it into clear actions.
  • Understanding of core performance metrics such as CPC, CPM, CTR, CPA, conversion rate and ROAS.
  • Good written communication skills for crafting concise, persuasive ad copies and messages.
  • Comfort with using AI tools (for copy, creatives, research or analysis) and improving their outputs with your own judgment.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience running or supporting Meta Ads campaigns (Facebook and Instagram).
  • Exposure to lead generation campaigns for local businesses such as clinics, salons, gyms, tour operators and similar categories.
  • Familiarity with landing page basics and how page experience impacts performance.
  • Basic understanding of funnels, remarketing, and attribution.
