Paper Machine Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Systems & Paper Machine Operations:

• Ensure uninterrupted operation of all electrical systems of Paper Machine-3, including drives, motors, panels, MCCs, and field instruments
  
• Understand paper-making processes and different grades to align electrical parameters with process requirements
  
• Monitor machine speed, load patterns, and electrical limits to support optimal production rates
  

2. Raw Material & Process Electrical Integration:

• Support electrical control systems linked to raw material handling, pulp preparation, and stock preparation
  
• Ensure reliable functioning of sensors, analyzers, and control loops related to fiber quality and pulp parameters
  
• Assist in electrical troubleshooting impacting pulp quality and consistency
  

3. Chemical Dosing & Control Systems

• Ensure accurate electrical and automation support for chemical dosing systems
  
• Maintain and calibrate electrical instruments linked to sizing chemicals, dyes, retention aids, and strength additives
  
• Support optimization initiatives through stable electrical and control logic performance
  

4. Forming Section – Electrical & Automation Support

• Maintain electrical drives, actuators, and automation systems of the forming section
  
• Ensure proper functioning of vacuum-related electrical controls and interlocks
  
• Support electrical calculations and instrumentation related to airflow and vacuum control
  

5. Vacuum System – Electrical Efficiency

• Oversee electrical systems associated with vacuum pumps, motors, and control panels
  
• Monitor energy consumption and drive efficiency of vacuum systems
  
• Support optimization of electrical load, sealing water controls, and temperature-related instrumentation
  

6. MG (Machine Glazing) Electrical Operations

• Manage electrical start-up and shutdown of MG systems under cold and normal conditions
  
• Ensure reliable electrical performance of condensate removal systems, air heating systems, and MG drives
  
• Support surface quality consistency through stable electrical control
  

7. Rewinder Electrical Operations

• Ensure smooth electrical operation of rewinders, drives, and safety systems
  
• Troubleshoot electrical faults impacting rewinding quality and productivity
  
• Support quality parameter stability through precise electrical controls
  

8. Quality Systems, QCS, DCS & Data Analytics

• Maintain and troubleshoot QCS, DCS, PLCs, flowmeters, and electrical instrumentation
  
• Interpret electrical and process data to support quality improvement and process stability
  
• Support new product development through electrical modifications, trials, and control logic changes
  

9. Environment, Energy & Safety

• Drive reduction in electrical energy consumption through optimization initiatives
  
• Support water and chemical reduction initiatives via reliable electrical automation
  
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, audits, and statutory requirements
  
• Minimize electrical losses and environmental impact
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems in paper machines
  
• Hands-on experience with motors, VFDs, MCCs, PLCs, DCS, QCS
  
• Understanding of process-linked electrical automation
  
• Ability to analyze electrical data and improve efficiency
  
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  
• Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability
  

Qualification & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech – Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in paper manufacturing or continuous process industries
