Education Qualification: Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Fabrication Technology. Experience: Above 12 Years relevant to our products only & over all product cycle knowledge. No. of Vacancy : 1 Job Description: We are looking for a technically sound and results-driven Steel Head to oversee and lead our steel yard operations. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring high-quality fabrication support for large mobile equipment. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of steel cutting, nesting operations, and scrap management, coupled with strong leadership to manage shop floor teams in a dynamic, high-precision environment. ∙Lead and manage the complete steel yard operations including raw material handling, layout planning, and component preparation. ∙Ensure efficient cutting processes using CNC plasma, oxy-fuel, or laser cutting machines. ∙Prepare and review nesting plans to ensure optimal steel utilization and minimize waste. ∙Monitor, track, and control steel scrap generation, implement measures to reduce loss, and improve yield. ∙Coordinate with the Design, Production, and Assembly teams to deliver high-quality cut components per production timelines. ∙Enforce strict safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in the yard area. ∙Maintain inventory of steel plates, cut components, and consumables. ∙Generate daily and weekly MIS reports related to steel consumption, scrap, downtime, and productivity. ∙Supervise a team of operators, fitters, and helpers – ensure their training and performance. ∙Maintain machines in coordination with the maintenance department to avoid breakdowns. ∙Support the implementation of lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the steel yard. Qualifications: ∙Additional certifications in CNC operations, Nesting software (e.g., ProNest, SigmaNEST), or Lean Manufacturing will be an advantage. ∙Proficiency in CNC cutting machine operations and nesting software. ∙Strong knowledge of steel grades, fabrication tolerances, and material standards. ∙Experience with large/heavy steel structures and components. ∙Familiarity with ERP systems and shop floor control tools. ∙Strong leadership and communication skills. ∙Problem-solving approach and process improvement mindset.
