Description
A blue-collar recruiter for a manufacturing staffing company is responsible for the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening candidates to onboarding and ensuring Documentation. The role focuses on high-volume hiring for skilled trades and manual labour positions within the industrial sector.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Blue-Collar Recruiter to manage the end-to-end recruitment process for manufacturing and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in high-volume blue-collar hiring, a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry's specific needs, and the ability to build a reliable talent pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Sourcing & Acquisition: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified blue-collar candidates (e.g., machine operators, welders, technicians, production workers, loaders, etc.).
Multi-channel Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing methods, including online job boards, social media, internal databases, employee referrals, local networking channels, campus drives, and job fairs.
Screening & Assessment: Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews (phone/video), and evaluate candidates' qualifications, skills (both technical and soft skills), and safety awareness to ensure a good fit for client requirements.
Hiring Process Management: Oversee the entire hiring process from candidate identification to offer negotiation and extension, ensuring a smooth candidate experience.
Client Collaboration: Work closely with client hiring managers and operations teams to understand specific job requirements, workforce demands, and timelines.
Onboarding Support: Coordinate and support the onboarding and induction process, including necessary paperwork, documentation, and safety training, to ensure timely deployment of new hires.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations (e.g., NAPS, NEEM, PF, ESI), and company policies. Maintain accurate recruitment records, metrics, and hiring performance reports/dashboards.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with potential candidates, industry contacts, and clients to foster repeat business and a robust talent pipeline.
Retention Support: Assist in developing and implementing employee retention strategies and addressing worker grievances to minimize turnover and enhance employee satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience (typically 3-5+ years) in blue-collar or industrial recruitment, preferably within a staffing agency environment.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the manufacturing, engineering, and related industries, including typical job roles, skill requirements, and operational environments.
Communication: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple high-volume recruitment processes simultaneously.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment software, job portals, and basic computer skills for data management and reporting.
Local Knowledge: Knowledge of the local labor market and the ability to communicate in the local language Tamil is often preferred.
