Job Description

Network Support Engineer

Role: Project Controller

Key Skills & Experience:

Must Have:

5+ years of hands-on experience in network support and infrastructure roles
Server operating systems: Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2024)
Virtualization technologies: VMware, Hyper-V
Firewall configuration and management: Sophos, SonicWall, FortiGate
Network Attached Storage (NAS): setup, maintenance, troubleshooting
Networking protocols and concepts: DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, switching, routing, TCP/IP
Cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
Security best practices: IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, firewall rule base analysis, vulnerability management
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in infrastructure environments
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Leadership ability to manage and mentor a team of 3 or more engineers
Ability to document technical procedures and create SOPs
Project coordination and technical ownership

Good to Have:

Experience with ITIL-based IT processes (incident, problem, and change management)
Exposure to IT audits and compliance checks
Knowledge of automation or scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
Familiarity with monitoring and performance tools for infrastructure
Experience working in customer-facing roles and handling escalations

Qualifications:

Must Have:
Diploma in Hardware and Networking OR B.Sc. in IT or equivalent
Good to Have:
Certifications in MCSE, CCNA, or VMware

Key Responsibilities:

Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot server infrastructure and network systems
Install, manage, and optimize firewall and security policies across various devices
Manage and maintain NAS drives and storage backup solutions
Ensure uptime and performance of LAN/WAN and wireless networks
Implement and maintain cloud network solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
Lead a small team of engineers, guide technical operations, and manage escalations
Maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, asset registers, SOPs, and incident logs
Work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to translate business needs into effective technical solutions
Contribute to IT audits and ensure best practices in cybersecurity and data protection
Continuously explore new technologies for infrastructure improvement and cost optimization
