Job Description

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Asterisk Engineer to take charge of our critical communication and infrastructure systems. In this role, you will be the cornerstone for ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security of our Asterisk PBX platforms, associated databases, and network environment. Key Responsibilities: Asterisk PBX Expertise: Install, configure, optimize, and maintain high-availability Asterisk-based PBX systems. Manage and troubleshoot SIP trunks, VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, IAX2), complex dial plans, and extensions. Diagnose and resolve call quality issues, including jitter, latency, packet loss, and echo. Implement and manage advanced features like IVR, ACD queues, conferencing, and voicemail. Ensure the security of the telephony environment against vulnerabilities. Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, backups, and recovery for databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) used by Asterisk (e.g., CDRs, user profiles). Monitor database performance, execute optimizations, and ensure data integrity. Networking: Monitor network infrastructure for performance and reliability. Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls to support VoIP traffic. Troubleshoot network issues related to LAN/WAN, VLANs, QoS (for VoIP), and VPNs. Technical Monitoring: Proactively monitor all systems using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or similar. Respond promptly to system alerts and incidents, providing root-cause analysis. Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations and procedures. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Mandatory: Strong proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Asterisk PBX. Solid hands-on experience with VoIP technologies and protocols. Practical experience in database administration and maintenance (MySQL/PostgreSQL). Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, VPN) and hands-on experience with network devices. Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems. Familiarity with system monitoring tools. Preferred Qualifications: Networking certifications like CCNA, CCNP etc., Knowledge of scripting (Bash, Python) for automation.
