Job Description

National Sales Head


Roles & Responsibilities:-

  • To develop new business relationships and manage existing relationships.
  • Drive primary and secondary sales for fertilizers and pesticides across India.
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
  • Ensure consistent growth and achievement of monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Attend industry trade events along with networking opportunities and other relevant meetings
  • Conduct budget reviews to ensure sales and marketing activities are within budget.
  • Appoint, manage, and support dealers, distributors, and sub-stockists. Ensure timely product availability, order fulfillment, and payment collections.
  • Conduct farmer meetings, field demos, and product trials to create product awareness and generate demand at the grassroots level.
  • Guide and support field staff, if any (Sales Officers / Field Assistants), in planning their route, market coverage, and activity planning.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and new product launches. Provide regular feedback and suggestions to the management.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales performance, stock movement, and market trends. Share actionable insights with the senior team.
  • Maintain strong relations with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), agri-dealers, input retailers, and progressive farmers for brand visibility and trust.


Education & Other Requirements:-

  • The ideal should have at least 15

    –20 years

    or experience in Fertilizer industry.
  • Should be Ph.d/ M.Sc/B.Sc (Agriculture) is preferred with strong agri-input experience.
  • Strong knowledge of crop patterns, soil behaviour, and product application.
  • Well-connected with local agri-dealers, distributors, and key influencers in across India.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India.
  • Excellent skills in Business Planning and Budgeting.
  • Experience in Account Management and Sales.
  • Proven ability in Team Management.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
