Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management:
- Manage and maintain hospital databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available at all times.
- Support in the entry, validation, and retrieval of data from hospital management systems (HMS) and other related platforms.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare periodic reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly) related to key hospital operations, including patient admission, discharge, billing, and patient care metrics.
- Analyze and interpret hospital data to identify trends, performance indicators, and areas for improvement.
- Generate customized reports for department heads, senior management, and external stakeholders as required.
- System Support:
- Ensure smooth operation of IT systems by assisting in the implementation and troubleshooting of hospital software applications (HMS, EMR, ERP, etc.).
- Assist with user training and provide support to hospital staff on system usage, data entry, and report generation.
- Data Integrity & Security:
- Monitor and maintain data quality to ensure the integrity of hospital records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) and internal policies regarding data security.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operational departments to understand their data requirements and ensure timely delivery of required information.
- Provide analytical support for decision-making processes in patient care, hospital management, and financial planning.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
- Assist in identifying issues or discrepancies in the data and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Participate in the improvement of reporting processes and automation of manual tasks wherever possible.
- Project Support:
- Assist in IT and healthcare-related projects by providing data insights, tracking project milestones, and monitoring the performance of project deliverables.
- Documentation & Training:
- Maintain documentation for report generation, system updates, and training materials for hospital staff.
- Support in conducting training sessions for staff on using MIS tools and systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an MIS role, preferably in the hospital or healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge of hospital management systems (HMS), electronic medical records (EMR), and other hospital IT systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify trends and discrepancies in data.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of data security protocols and compliance regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Healthcare Information Management or related field (e.g., CHDA - Certified Health Data Analyst).
- Experience with advanced analytics tools or programming languages (Python, R).
- Knowledge of hospital operational workflows and clinical processes.
- Experience candidate needed hospital background.
Work Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Standard hospital working hours, with occasional requirements for evening or weekend shifts as necessary.
