Mines Foreman - Roles & Responsibilities

(Prior Experience in Blue Metal Mines is Mandatory)

1. Shows basic knowledge of applicable laws and the regulatory environment (Mining laws, Mines act, MMDR, Environment law- PC, EP Water act, Land laws, Labour laws, PESO explosives, Motor vehicles act, Legal metrology, town planning & Panchayat act etc.) in order to ensure compliance of own activities.

2. Understands and applies strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulatory environment to monitor compliance, rectify deviations and ensure compliance of complex/ high visibility/risk activities.

3. Shows adequate knowledge of geology science (methods and practices related to exploration) to carry out own job tasks.

4. Shows basic knowledge of statistical tools for geological surveys and related IT tools (SURPAC, data mine, QSO, CADE etc) sufficient to supporting activities within his own job area.

5. Shows awareness of the mining methods (open-cut mining (truck-and-shovel, strip mining, quarrying and dragline) sufficient to provide inputs into mining plans rom own work area and support with documentation.

6. Exhibits adequate knowledge of equipment’s (lubricants, hydraulics, auto electrical etc.) relevant to own work area in order to ensure timely action in case of breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.

7. Understands and applies a strong knowledge of equipment parts, operating principles and applications to guide maintenance efforts, conduct root cause analysis, resolve team queries and prepare preventive maintenance plans

8. Demonstrates broad knowledge of equipments, their application and root cause analysis techniques in order to review critical parameters, monitor equipment health, and guide team for critical preventive and breakdown maintenance

9. Shows basic skills in identifying key external stakeholders relevant to own area and developing good working relationships with them

10. Demonstrates mastery in developing networks and leveraging key external/internal stakeholders’ government/ local bodies/ community/ leaders/ political representatives) to meet company objectives

11. Shows basic knowledge of operations and resource planning sufficient to align own activities with defined plans and provide inputs to the operations plan.

12. Understands and applies strong knowledge of mining operations and process to coordinate between the sections for resource utilization in a manner that achieves high productivity and achieves targets

13. Applies strong understanding of equipment (rated capacity, sequencing, specifications, health and history conditions, etc.) plan equipment deployment, equipment usage patterns, to design specific process steps, troubleshoot problems and drive maximum usage.

14. Demonstrates strong knowledge of pre-blending sufficient to support design of limestone quality standards

15. Demonstrates strong knowledge of QC standards and techniques to define SoPs for QC planning and implementation and monitor production quality

16. Shows adequate awareness of accounting & finance principles (Debit, credit, bank guarantee, reconciliation etc.) sufficient to understand & monitor, financial impact in own work area

17. Shows strong understanding of applicable accounting & finance principles (Debit, credit, bank guarantee, reconciliation etc.) sufficient to monitor financial parameters across the functions

18. Shows adequate knowledge of TPM techniques (TQM, Kaizen, SGA etc.) to implement initiatives in own work area

19. Demonstrates adequate knowledge of requirement of internal systems in order to ensure compliant working in own work area

Requirements and skills

1. Diploma/ B.Tech/B.E. in Mining or equivalent (Required)

2. Mines Foreman Certificate or equivalent (Required)

3. DGMS Certification (Desirable)

4. The minimum work experience required is 4 years. (Required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
