Mechanical Engineering Intern

Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate corrective actions. Apply strong knowledge of equipment such as conveyors, pumps, valves, piping selection and sizing, rotary filling machines (Uniblock, Linear, Labelers, Rotary equipment), bearings, lubrication systems, vessels, chillers, compressors, geared motors, and gearboxes. Plan and execute corrective maintenance to minimize machine downtime. Maintain logs and records of all maintenance activities. Monitor and manage spare parts inventory effectively. Ensure compliance with all mechanical maintenance safety standards. Coordinate with vendors for repair, servicing, and procurement of parts. Support installation and commissioning of new machinery. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repeated equipment failures or breakdowns. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability. Maintain and improve availability of rotating equipment across operations. Develop and maintain value-added work practices to ensure the lowest total cost of ownership. Ensure data quality and accuracy for documents uploaded into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Maintain a holistic and standardized approach to equipment management. Develop key reliability metrics such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
