The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, preparing manufacturing drawings, and ensuring structural integrity and safety compliance of crane systems. You will work closely with production, quality, and project teams to deliver cost-effective and efficient crane solutions. Key Responsibilities:Design and develop mechanical components and systems for EOT cranes, including girders, end carriages, hoists, trolleys, wire ropes, and structural frames. Perform structural analysis and load calculations (static & dynamic) to ensure compliance with standards like IS, FEM, DIN, and CMAA. Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using Solidwork software . Select standard components such as motors, gearboxes, brakes, wheels, bearings, and couplings based on load and duty requirements. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), fabrication drawings, and technical documentation. Collaborate with the electrical and controls teams for system integration. Support manufacturing and fabrication by resolving design-related queries. Ensure crane designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Participate in product testing, inspection, and commissioning activities as required. Work with project management and procurement to meet delivery timelines and cost targets. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2–5+ years of experience in designing EOT cranes or heavy material handling equipment. Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor. Good knowledge of crane design standards (IS 3177, IS 807, IS 3938, FEM, DIN, CMAA). Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, structural strength, material selection, and manufacturing processes. Experience in load calculation, stress analysis, and selection of mechanical components. Familiarity with fabrication techniques and workshop practices. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple design projects and deliverables under tight schedules. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools like ANSYS or similar. Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems used in cranes. Exposure to ERP/PLM systems for BOM and drawing management. Familiarity with electrical hoisting equipment and safety systems is a plus. Skills : Solidwork software proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo), structural and mechanical analysis (load, stress, material selection), material selection, manufacturing process knowledge (fabrication, welding), and a strong understanding of EOT crane components (hoist, gearbox) and relevant design codes (IS codes)
