Role: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Trichy, India Contact: hr.india@rmzoilfield.com We are looking for a passionate and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in Autodesk Inventor and strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). The candidate will be responsible for the complete product design cycle, from concept through detailed engineering, prototyping, and support for manufacturing and field operations. Key Responsibilities Product Design & Development of well intervention tools, downhole equipment, and related mechanical systems. Perform 3D modeling, detailing, and design calculations using Autodesk Inventor. Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision and manufacturability. Prepare engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation as per standards. Ensure compliance with API and ASME standards during design and documentation. Support prototype development, assembly, and testing of new designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Production, QA/QC, and Assembly. Provide technical support to manufacturing, assembly, and field service teams. Troubleshoot design-related technical problems and propose improvements. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality procedures. Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative solutions for product improvement. Manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines effectively. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in product/equipment design engineering (oilfield tools preferred, but product-based industry also acceptable). Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (hands-on experience mandatory). Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards. Experience in preparing operation manuals, technical documents, and design reports. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. Exposure to manufacturing processes, machining, and assembly practices is an advantage. Preferred: Knowledge of API and ASME standards; experience in oilfield downhole tools/well intervention equipment.
