Material Purchaser – Power Grid High Voltage
The opportunity
Accountable for obtaining goods/services required by the organization including Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.). Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.) Procurement processes include Product/Service Sourcing. Supplier Selection. Pricing/Terms Negotiation. Order Processing. Contract Administration. Supplier Performance Management. May include Strategic Sourcing An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. The problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. Coordination with various cross functional stakeholders.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders.
- Deliver a weekly purchase order report to management that indicates the vendor invoice number for all closed purchase orders.
- Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products.
- Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis.
- Ensure timely material availability from Import and Local sources with required documents like Material TCs and Inspection report to ensure seamless production and timely deliveries to Customer.
- Reduce stock obs. By ensuring correct quantity procurement and finding avenues to reduce the same.
- Follow Customer demand plan and material procurement strategy to plan long lead time items and ensure timely availability.
- Prepare a master tracking sheet for mfg. plan assigned to you and release real time material availability report.
- To handle CAPEX, Indirect and Consumable along with regular production parts

Your background
- BE/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical.
- 5 to 8 years of experience.
- Advance knowledge in SAP MM Module.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Thorough understanding of MRP/ERP systems, Materials Management standards & procedures JIT principles (Kanban, pull system).
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
