RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMERS AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
- Partner with business and finance teams to identify GST optimization opportunities and ensure effective tax management.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns, reconciliations, and internal tax packages in line with statutory and group timelines.
- Implement global and local tax risk control initiatives; identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential GST exposures.
- Advise business on GST implications of new initiatives, marketing promotions, imports/exports, and supply chain transactions.
- Coordinate and manage data collation and documentation for tax assessments, audits, and departmental queries.
- Represent the company before tax authorities in audits, assessments, and controversy matters.
- Monitor GST regulatory changes, circulars, and judicial updates; conduct impact assessments and communicate implications to stakeholders.
- Drive implementation of global tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure standardization and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to embed GST considerations into business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, including SOX, ICFR, and Bacardi’s global tax governance framework.
- Support quarterly and annual financial closings and coordinate with external auditors on indirect tax matters.
- Lead or support process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance tax compliance efficiency.
SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 6–10 years of experience in a Big 4 firm or the tax department of a multinational company.
- Exposure to GST consulting or compliance management; experience in a tax advisory background will be an added advantage.
- In-depth technical knowledge of GST law, procedures, and practical application.
- Proven experience in representation before tax authorities and handling assessments or audits.
- Hands-on experience in coordinating with external auditors, advisors, and tax consultants.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to simplify complex tax issues.
- High degree of accountability, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) and familiarity with tax automation tools will be an advantage.
