Job Purpose:

The Sales & Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, acquiring new clients, developing strategic partnerships, and ensuring the expansion of the companys market presence. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and strong sales acumen to meet and exceed business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitors, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare annual sales forecasts, budgets, and business plans.

2. Business Development

  • Identify, approach, and acquire new customers across target markets and geographies.
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Explore and establish new markets for existing and upcoming products.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Act as a point of contact for customer queries, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

4. Sales Execution

  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to closure.
  • Conduct presentations, product demonstrations, and negotiations with prospective clients.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups, proposal submissions, and contract finalizations.

5. Marketing & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the marketing team for lead generation, promotional activities, and branding initiatives.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and conferences for networking and business opportunities.

6. Reporting & Analytics

  • Track sales metrics, pipeline development, and business performance through regular reporting.
  • Provide insights on customer needs, competitive activities, and market developments to management.

7. Team Leadership (if applicable)

  • Guide, mentor, and train junior sales executives/trainees to improve their sales capabilities.
  • Ensure team alignment with company goals and objectives.

  • Strategic thinking and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and sales reporting systems
  • Market research and competitor analysis skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5–10 years of experience in sales/business development (experience in the chemical industry is a plus)
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience in B2B sales and channel management preferred

  • Achievement of sales and revenue targets
  • Number of new clients acquired
  • Retention rate of existing clients
  • Market share growth and expansion into new territories
  • Timeliness and accuracy of sales reporting
