Manager - Raw Materials (Adjuncts)

The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement and logistics of key raw materials and auxiliaries required for beer production. This majorly includes Rice, coriander, utilities etc. The role demands a deep understanding of Agri commodity, imports, supplier management, contract negotiations, market trends, and quality assurance to ensure the highest standards in raw material procurement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials (e.g., rice, coriander) and utilities, ensuring alignment with the company’s production goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to secure optimal quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate and establish long-term supplier agreements to maintain supply chain stability.
• Identify and develop new vendors consider future requirement of raw material.

Market Analysis & Cost Management

• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, crop availability and industry developments to anticipate risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with zonal and global team to implement best practices in sourcing rice, coriander, hops etc. to maintaining quality standards and save cost.
• Track and report key metrics, including cost per unit, supplier performance, and procurement lead times.

Procurement Operations

• Oversee procurement processes, including order management, delivery tracking, and inventory control.
• Work closely with global agricultural commodity team and India planning team to source rice, coriander and flavors taking into consideration supply constraints and BU requirement.
• Ensure smooth customs clearance at India port and its movement to breweries.
• Work closely with planning team to ensure enough coverage for 3 to 6 months.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply teams to ensure seamless procurement operations.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management

• Work with India quality team to ensure identified new vendors qualify audit requirements.
• Mitigate risks associated with raw material shortages, price volatility, and other disruptions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with internal stakeholders (production, quality control, finance) to align procurement strategies with business needs.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership (India, Zonal and Global) on procurement performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve sourcing processes and implement best practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in direct procurement/sourcing with at least 1 year in Agri commodities, preferably in the FMCG, brewing, or beverage industry.
• Master’s degree in supply chain management with bachelor's in engineering or agriculture.
• Experience in handling Agri commodity and knowledge of imports would be added advantage.
• Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and contracts.
• Experience with procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices in procurement is a plus.
