Job Description

CONMED is a progressive, growing medical device manufacturer with a global footprint. Through our products, we enable healthcare providers around the world to deliver exceptional outcomes for patients. Our Global IT team is integral to the success of delivering on our mission and vision.The Manager of Cybersecurity will play a critical role in protecting CONMED’s information assets and ensuring compliance with global and local statutory requirements. Based in India and reporting to the Sr. Director of Information Security & Compliance, this leader will manage a globally distributed cybersecurity team, driving the implementation and operation of security controls, responding to incidents, and supporting the company’s mission to deliver exceptional outcomes for patients worldwide. This is a remote position based in India.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a globally distributed cybersecurity team, overseeing day-to-day operations for information security across IT and communications systems.
  • Implement and maintain security controls for software, hardware, network infrastructure, and third-party vendors, ensuring consistency across all regions.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity events worldwide, minimizing impact and ensuring timely recovery.
  • Support the development and execution of the company’s information security strategy, aligning with global direction and local requirements in all operating regions.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk analyses; implement appropriate safeguards across the global enterprise.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government, industry, and customer information security requirements, including data privacy laws relevant to India and other jurisdictions where CONMED operates.
  • Maintain and report on metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of security controls and processes to global stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and business teams across regions to support audits, regulatory requirements, and business continuity planning.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing for all global locations.
  • Foster a high-performance, engaged, and customer-focused team culture across multiple time zones and geographies.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices worldwide.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including hands-on experience with security operations, incident response, and risk management.
  • Experience leading or managing teams across multiple countries or regions.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
  • Experience with compliance and privacy requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, Indian data protection laws).
  • Demonstrated leadership or team lead experience in a global or multinational environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.

Experience

  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with GRC platforms and privacy regulations for multinational companies.
  • Project management or change management certifications (e.g., PMP, Prosci).
