Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement and Productivity Enhancement
across our control valve manufacturing facility. This position is for a dynamic and results-driven leader who will build and mentor a high-performing manufacturing engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a catalyst for change, leveraging Lean Manufacturing and Flowserve's Operational Excellence (OpEx) Models to eliminate waste, maximize efficiency, and boost output across all production processes, from raw material to final tested product.Responsibilities & Requirements: Your main responsibilities will be around several aspects
Continuous improvement leadership
- Champion a robust culture of continuous improvement by actively driving Lean and OpEx initiatives.
- Work across functions and lead the Manufacturing Engineering Team to identify, implement and execute improvement strategies.
- Utilize data-driven methodologies, such as Value Stream Mapping, to identify and eliminate all forms of waste (e.g., time, motion, and material) within the manufacturing process.
- Conduct root cause analysis for all quality and production issues, implementing effective and sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time reduction, and first-pass yield to track and sustain gains.
- Drive a Safety First Culture and drive every possible initiative in line with organizations HSE objectives.
Productivity and efficiency enhancement
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for automating manufacturing processes to drive significant increases in output and efficiency.
- Lead the justification, selection, and commissioning of new manufacturing technologies and capital equipment to boost operational capability and throughput.
- Optimize facility layouts and production lines to improve workflow, minimize material handling, and maximize overall productivity.
- Provide strong engineering leadership for new product introductions (NPIs) by ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and that production lines are set up for maximum efficiency from day one.
- Lead training programs to enhance employee skills in continuous improvement techniques and reinforce a productivity-focused mindset across all levels of the organization.
Operational excellence
- Oversee all technical aspects of control valve manufacturing, including CNC machining, assembly, and testing, ensuring process repeatability and exceptional product quality.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, BS) and internal quality systems.
- Develop and maintain critical manufacturing documentation, including SOPs and work instructions, that reflect standardized and optimized processes.
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues and ensure a seamless and efficient flow of material and information.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years in leadership roles in industrial operations driving quality / operations / engineering.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement processes are a must for the position.
- Experience in Control Valve manufacturing is highly recommended.
- Must have at least 5 years of P&L responsibility / experience which includes standard cost systems, manufacturing operation, supply chain / purchasing, quality assurance, inside sales and product development.
- Experience with various control valves of linear & rotary types and with positioners / accessories are preferred.
- Familiarity with financial and operational reporting, metrics, and performance management systems required.
- Strong leadership skills are necessary, especially the ability to influence across an organization and build high performing teams
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 8-10 years relevant experience
