Job Description

Position Overview:

Manager – Maintenance & Projects

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Planning

  • Define and design layouts as part of engineering planning.
  • Provide 3 layout options to management based on requirements and structural design.
  • Prepare material planning, including machines and equipment.
  • Utilize existing usable resources effectively.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and internal teams during project execution.

Budget & Cost Control

  • Prepare project budgets and evaluate costs by comparing at least three vendors.
  • Negotiate for discounts, extended warranties, or free training/installations.
  • Recommend the most cost-effective vendor based on quality and service.
  • Ensure cost optimization without compromising quality and productivity.

Documentation & Procurement

  • Prepare project schedules and ensure timely completion.
  • Perform ROI and payback analysis before purchases.
  • Ensure timely PO release, follow-ups, and verification of material quality and quantity.
  • Monitor installation, commissioning, and project closure within timelines.
  • Maintain records of budget deviations and ensure proper justification.

Energy Management

  • Monitor air, water, and electrical energy consumption through real-time data.
  • Conduct monthly analysis to identify unusual consumption patterns.
  • Maintain loads within TNEB standards to avoid penalties.
  • Implement automation, energy-efficient systems, and explore solar solutions.
  • Conduct periodic energy audits and maintain baseline controls for consumption.

Maintenance Oversight

  • Support the maintenance team with technical guidance and systematic procedures.
  • Align maintenance schedules with operational goals and safety standards.
  • Monitor spare part inventory, maintenance budgets, and asset accountability.
  • Approve procurement of spares and service costs.
  • Manage downtime decisions and ensure continuous operation.
  • Review monthly stock and scrap reports, and coordinate disposal of life-end machinery.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement and promote

    ZED, ISO, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM

    practices.
  • Ensure compliance with factory safety and audit standards.
  • Conduct safety audits and awareness programs for the engineering team.
  • Maintain full accountability of assets, spares, and maintenance systems in ERP.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in

    Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering

    .
  • 8–12 years

    of experience in maintenance and project management (preferably in garments or manufacturing).
  • Knowledge in

    energy systems, Lean, ISO, ZED, TPM, and ERP software

    .
  • Strong analytical, planning, and team leadership skills.
