PURPOSE

Under the overall management of the Senior Director Taxation advise on tax related matters and support the tax effectiveness implementation of approved business strategies with the overall objectives to:n- Create protect and optimize value from a tax perspective in the context of SITA's business objectives;n- Manage tax related risks;n- Ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

For the APAC region and particularar projects as applicable, advise and support the implementation in the areas of:

1. Tax Planning & Effective Tax Rate (ETR) management

• Identify, plan, and execute agreed international tax projects
• Provide tax planning, consulting and compliance expertise to the business, including advising management regarding the tax impact of new laws and regulations
• Tax review and approval for specific business projects
• Contribute to and influence the development of the Company's financial policies, instruments, regulations from the expert standpoint

2. Tax accounting & Reporting

• Support the calculation of the tax provisions and the financial statement disclosure in the global and local accounts
• Collaboration with the other SITA’s departments to ensure the accuracy of the data reported in the tax returns
• Prepare and review the reconciliations of the Tax Ledgers/ Tax GL accounts/ Revenue
• Support accounting team on analysis and tax depreciation workings

3. Tax compliance & Audit Defense

• Be responsible for the Company’s tax compliance, tax planning, accounting for income taxes and preparation of applicable tax returns in compliance with local tax rules
• Drive tax compliance in consultation with external tax consultant and coordinating with group tax team on reporting, including direct tax, indirect tax & TP)
• Manage and drive all tax audits and certifications to closures within defined timelines
• Consolidate information for internal and external audits and ensure completeness and accuracy of all such information
• Coordinate/control/follow up on the VAT refunds and tax payments

EXPERIENCE

• +8 years work experience in an accounting/VAT environment preferably within a medium to large international company with a matrix business structure;
• Deep knowledge of India taxation is a requirement

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Proficiency in spoken and written English, other languages are beneficial
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to multitask to stand up to pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrate the ability to use sound judgement discretion and professional integrity
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships within the organization and with outside stakeholders

• Demonstrate PC proficiency (MS Office; Word; Power Point and strong in Excel skills
