Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manager Informational Technology to join our GCIO Manufacturing Support -CAT IT Division.

The incumbent is expected to manage employees who are responsible for development projects, development teams and application support functions

The preference for this role is to be based out of Chennai - Brigade World Trade Center, TN and Bangalore PSN Office , Whitefield, KA

What you will do

  • Support business unit IT needs aligning towards IT roadmaps that enable business unit objectives and communicate results.
  • Maintain strong relationships and communications with other functions, key customers and partners.
  • Maximize staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs.
  • Analyze applications to ensure that all systems that are developed, meet business needs and specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Execute translating client's requirements to functional documentation, participate in technical designs and test plan with coaching and train
  • Proactively execute customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications

What you will have

  • Engineering Degree or Equivalent with 10 years of experience
  • 5 This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office

Skills desired:

Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Manages application-related issues, implications, and approaches with clients.
  • Evaluates key interfaces and interdependencies among core applications systems.
  • Explains features and benefits of core applications for consideration by business units.
  • Implements existing and planned application enhancements in major business units.
  • Tracks data flow between own applications and core applications in other business areas.
  • Plans enhancement, conversion, and retirement strategies for core applications.

Information Technology Trends: Knowledge of marketplace experience, developments and trends related to the organization's use of Information Technology (IT); ability to apply knowledge of IT appropriately to benefit the organization.

  • Discusses existing and planned IT technologies relevant to own function.
  • Participates in at least one major IT initiative within own function.
  • Discusses several pertinent technology trends.
  • Reviews organization's recent experience in introducing new technologies.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

  • Consults with others on system and/or technology integration efforts.
  • Monitors system and technology integration trends and directions.
  • Plays a leadership role in defining systems integration processes and practices.
  • Designs complex interfaces, integration strategies and plans.
  • Holds an industry wide conference on system integration and migration issues, problems and considerations.
  • Demonstrates extensive experience with system and technology integration.

Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.

  • Compares how certain functions of the business perform better at different stages of the business cycle.
