Job Summary

A Procurement Manager in a railway infrastructure company plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods, services, and works essential for project execution. This position demands strategic planning, supplier management, and adherence to regulatory standards to support large-scale Railway projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies specific to railway infrastructure and rolling stock.Manage end-to-end tendering processes in compliance with Indian Railways and public procurement norms.Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to technical specifications and delivery timelines.Collaborate with engineering, project management, and finance teams to forecast procurement needs.Maintain supplier relationships and monitor performance to ensure quality and reliability.Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental standards.Analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.Prepare procurement reports and documentation for audits and stakeholder review.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration (MBA preferred).Minimum 3 - 8 years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years in railway.Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
