Manager, DevelopmentLead

Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, the Development Lead will provide hands-on technical leadership while mentoring junior and mid-level developers. The role requires a deep understanding of ServiceNow’s architecture, modules, and development best practices. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who thrives in an agile environment and is passionate about delivering scalable, maintainable, and innovative solutions. 

Your Role Accountabilities: 

Technical Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the design and development of scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with architectural standards. 

• Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. 

• Stay current with ServiceNow releases and emerging technologies to guide platform evolution and adoption. 

• Collaborate with architects to ensure solutions are technically sound and aligned with enterprise architecture. 

Team Management & Development Oversight

• Assign development tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions. 

• Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and developer skills. 

• Support career development and performance management of direct reports. 

• Promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and accountability. 

Agile Delivery & Execution

• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment and progress. 

• Track development milestones, proactively address blockers, and ensure sprint commitments are met. 

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered. 

• Ensure adherence to agile development practices and continuous integration/deployment pipelines. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement

• Enforce development standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices across the team. 

• Ensure compliance with platform governance, security, and change management policies. 

• Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and reuse across the platform. 

• Contribute to the development of internal frameworks, libraries, and reusable components. 

Qualifications & Experiences: 

• 7+ years of experience in ServiceNow development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role. 

• Strong expertise in ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and custom application development. 

• Proven experience leading agile development teams and delivering enterprise-grade solutions. 

• Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, scripting (JavaScript, Glide), integrations (REST/SOAP), and data modeling. 

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

Not Required but Preferred Experience: 

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and Certified Application Developer. 

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices. 

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks for ServiceNow. 

• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
