Role Overview
FrogData is seeking an experienced
Manager – Data Science
to lead and scale our data science team focused on solving critical business challenges in the automotive sector. In this leadership role, you will manage a team of data scientists, drive project execution, define best practices, and ensure successful delivery of high-impact AI/ML solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with proven people leadership, enabling the team to deliver production-ready models that create measurable business value for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects—from problem definition and model design to deployment and performance monitoring.
- Set technical direction, review model architectures, and ensure model scalability, accuracy, and business relevance.
- Translate business challenges in areas such as sales forecasting, service optimization, and inventory management into analytical frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to define objectives, timelines, and success criteria.
- Ensure effective utilization of large-scale datasets from automotive industry-standard sources to generate insights and actionable outcomes.
- Standardize best practices in experimentation, model governance, documentation, and MLOps.
- Present insights, roadmap updates, and solution impact to senior leadership, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of emerging tools, AI trends, and automotive data innovations to elevate FrogData’s product capabilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in data science, AI/ML, with at least 3-4 years in a team leadership or managerial role.
- Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- Deep expertise in machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical techniques (e.g., deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning).
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven track record of delivering production-grade ML solutions and managing cross-functional projects.
- Familiarity with automotive datasets across sales, customer behavior, service operations, and inventory flows.
- Excellent stakeholder management, project planning, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership mindset with the ability to coach, influence, and inspire teams.
