Logistics Executive

Job Description

The Logistics Executive is responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics operations, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of raw materials, finished goods, and related activities within a manufacturing setup. The role ensures timely delivery, optimal inventory management, and efficient coordination between production, warehousing, and distribution to meet business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Logistics Planning & Coordination: Plan and coordinate the logistics operations to ensure timely receipt and dispatch of raw materials and finished goods. Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and warehouse staff to manage inbound and outbound shipments. Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all inventory movements. Transportation Management: Arrange for appropriate transportation of goods while optimizing cost and ensuring on-time delivery. Monitor vehicle schedules, routes, and performance to minimize delays and expenses. Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and transport partners for smooth logistics operations. Negotiate freight rates and service contracts to achieve cost savings. Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and maintain accurate records of logistics activities (GRNs, delivery notes, shipment documents, etc.). Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards. ERP & System Updates: Update logistics data in ERP systems for inventory, dispatch, and receipts. Generate reports and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Team Coordination: Coordinate with production, quality, purchase, and sales teams to align logistics activities with production schedules and customer requirements. Support cross-functional collaboration to solve logistics challenges and improve processes.
