Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an LNG Mechanical Engineer - Operations & Maintenance, located in Mumbai. The engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks, including overseeing mechanical systems, designing and maintaining machinery, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software, managing projects, and conducting research and development (R&D) activities.

1. Operation & Monitoring

• Supervise

  LNG unloading operations

  from tankers to storage tanks.
• Ensure safe and efficient functioning of

  LNG/LCNG equipment

  such as cryogenic pumps, vaporizers, compressors, dispensers, PRS (Pressure Regulating Systems), and piping.
• Monitor

  process parameters

  (pressure, temperature, flow, levels) and maintain daily logs.
• Ensure a continuous supply of

  CNG through the LCNG compression and dispensing system

  .
• Handle

  control systems, PLC/SCADA monitoring

  , and report abnormalities.

2. Maintenance Activities

• Plan and execute

  preventive and corrective maintenance

  of all LNG & LCNG station equipment.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and coordinate with OEM/vendors for specialized repair work.
• Maintain records of calibration of flow meters, gas detectors, PRVs, and safety valves.
• Ensure readiness and functionality of

  safety systems

  (ESD, fire-fighting system, alarms, detectors).

3. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce strict compliance with

  safety protocols, OISD/PNGRB guidelines

  , and company SOPs.
• Conduct

  daily safety inspections

  and participate in mock drills.
• Ensure PPE usage and safe working practices by staff and contractors.
• Coordinate statutory inspections with PESO and other regulatory bodies.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of

  daily operations, stock management, unloading, and dispensing data

  .
• Prepare

  incident/near-miss reports

  and propose corrective actions.
• Submit

  daily/weekly/monthly O&M reports

  to management.

5. Team & Customer Management

• Supervise and guide station operators, filling attendants, and contractors.
• Coordinate with transporters, drivers, and customers for smooth fueling operations.
• Provide technical support during audits, inspections, and customer visits.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of

  cryogenic systems, natural gas handling, and CNG compression

  .
• Hands-on experience in

  mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance

  .
• Knowledge of

  HSE practices, risk assessment, and emergency handling

  .
• Ability to read and interpret

  P&ID, GA drawings.

• Good communication, team management, and reporting skills.

KRA

•  Keep track of the GPS tracking of the Valsad tanker.
• To make the DPR Report every day.
• Monitoring SCADA during LNG dispensing in trucks.
• Reporting of BOG daily basis.
• To sort the BOG issue totally.
• Prepare the Valsad report and also prepare LNG Unloading SOPs.
• To arrange non-sparking tools for the LNG Valsad pump

Key Deliverables:

• Zero accidents and safe operation of the station.
• Minimum downtime through effective maintenance.
• Accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory norms.
• Continuous availability of LNG/LCNG to customers.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design skills

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

• 4 years of experience in the LNG / LCNG / CNG / Oil & Gas industry.

• Exposure to cryogenic systems, compressors, and gas dispensing stations preferred.

• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
• Project Management skills
• Experience in Research and Development (R&D)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Experience in the LNG industry is a plus
