Description
As a Legal Counsel at CIFF in Delhi, you will be responsible for various legal matters related to grant making activities, partnerships, compliance, and regulatory issues. Your role will involve drafting contracts, advising on legal matters, tracking legal updates, managing external counsel, advising on legal structures for funding, conducting legal due diligence, and building relationships with key stakeholders. You will also support in maintaining a compliance framework, providing ad hoc legal advice, and contributing to legal process improvements. Key Responsibilities: - Draft contracts and negotiate with grantee and partner organizations - Advise on governance, compliance, data protection, and safeguarding - Track legal updates relevant to the foundation and its partners - Manage external counsel and provide training where needed - Advise on legal structures for funding grantees - Conduct legal due diligence on proposed grantees/partners - Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders - Support in maintaining a compliance framework and record retention - Provide ad hoc legal advice on various matters - Contribute to legal process improvements Qualifications Required: - India qualified lawyer - Experience in a high-pace legal environment, preferably in the not-for-profit sector - Knowledge of corporate, commercial contracts, regulatory issues, and corporate governance - Strong research and communication skills - Commitment to the charity or not-for-profit sector - Interest in improving children's lives and climate change - Strong interpersonal and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and under pressure - IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Outlook CIFF offers a competitive salary starting from 2,568,800 INR for a 12 Month FTC, along with a hybrid work policy, annual leave, bonus scheme, training and wellbeing allowances, life insurance, and medical insurance.
