Job Description

Key Responsibilities

I. Technical Training & Curriculum Development

  • Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough Training Needs Analysis (TNA) across manufacturing, R&D, and Quality departments to identify technical skill gaps related to PV cell/module production (e.g., wafer handling, lamination, module testing).
  • Curriculum Design: Design and develop comprehensive, blended learning programs, including technical manuals, e-learning modules, and hands-on simulation training, specifically for PV manufacturing processes.
  • Technical Onboarding: Create and execute structured onboarding programs for all new engineers and technicians, ensuring rapid and safe integration into the production environment.
  • Certification Programs: Establish internal certification and re-certification pathways for critical technical roles (e.g., equipment operators, specialized maintenance technicians).

II. Strategic L&D Management

  • Strategy & Planning: Formulate and execute the annual L&D strategy and operational plan, aligning all training activities with the plants production targets, quality metrics, and continuous improvement goals (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
  • Budget & Vendor Management: Manage the L&D budget efficiently, evaluate external training vendors, and negotiate contracts for specialized technical and behavioral training.
  • LMS Administration: Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate record-keeping of training data, compliance tracking, and detailed reporting on learning metrics.

III. Compliance, Quality & Safety

  • Mandatory Training: Ensure 100% compliance with mandatory training related to industrial safety, fire safety, electrical hazard protocols, and environmental standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
  • Quality Assurance: Partner with the Quality Control team to deliver training on industry standards (IEC, BIS) and internal quality assurance processes, specifically aiming to reduce defects and waste (Yield Improvement).

IV. Leadership & Professional Development

  • Leadership Pipeline: Develop and facilitate supervisory and managerial training programs focused on performance management, team building, conflict resolution, and technical coaching.
  • Soft Skills: Introduce relevant soft skill training, such as effective communication, critical problem-solving, and time management, customized for a production environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of dedicated experience in Learning & Development or a related Training Management role, with a strong preference for experience in Solar PV, or other high-tech manufacturing industries.
  • Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or equivalent technical qualification is mandatory.
  • Location: Willingness to be based full-time at the

    Kurnool

    manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English, Hindi, and local language (

    Telugu

    ) is highly desirable for effective communication with the shop floor workforce.
  • Certification (Preferred): Professional certification in L&D (e.g., CPLP) or Quality/Process Improvement (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt).
