Job Description

Role Purpose

The Learning & Development Officer will lead training and development for our field-based fundraising staff and team leaders, a group of 60+ employees across three cities. This role involves identifying training needs, creating training modules (induction, functional/technical skills, soft skills, and managerial development), and delivering both in-house and third-party training solutions using diverse learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Training Needs & Planning

  • Partner with fundraising managers to assess training needs and sector trends.
  • Conduct annual competency mapping and identify capability gaps.
  • Develop the annual training calendar and break it into monthly/weekly execution plans.

Training Design & Delivery

  • Create training modules and manuals for induction, role-specific skills, and leadership development.
  • Design in-house training solutions and collaborate with expert third-party trainers.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions using varied learning approaches.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of training across all cities.

Management & Coordination

  • Oversee coaching staff recruitment and training requirements across field locations.
  • Manage and optimize the training budget.
  • Coordinate fortnightly with Campaign and Communications teams for updated campaign insights.
  • Provide insights and reports to FRD and key fundraising staff based on training outcomes and results.

Innovation & Best Practices

  • Identify and implement best practices from the fundraising and development sector.
  • Introduce sustainable and innovative training methods to strengthen capacity building.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience in training large, young, sales-driven teams, including training needs analysis and solution design.
  • Strong network of third-party trainers and training vendors.
  • Experience in managing training coordinators or coaching teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical abilities.

Interpersonal Skills & Working Style

  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to manage budgets and diverse teams.
  • High level of tact, diplomacy, and professionalism in interactions with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads and maintain strong time management in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel to field offices for a minimum of

    10 days per month
