Lead Platform Engineer

and play a key role in building and scaling Signant Health’s internal development platform. In this role, you’ll design and implement tools that streamline development, automate release processes, and enhance productivity for our global engineering teams. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with technical leadership to shape product features—all while ensuring our infrastructure is secure, reliable, and cost-efficient.­­­­­­­­­­­­­

ROLE PURPOSE

To support the development effort of the Integrated Developer Platform (IDP), automating release processes and building tools to help SignantHealth developers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

:

• Work with technical leadership to influence product feature direction including but not limited to prototyping innovative ideas
• Help the team estimate software deliverables across multiple sprints
• Design and implement tools that help engineering teams focus on shipping features, while making -sure we build infrastructure that is cost-efficient, secure and reliable.
• Build end-to-end features and tools for developers, using various languages in our tech stack such as Python, Node, Go
• Design and build technical integrations between cloud services and popular developer tools like ArgoCD, OpenTelemetry, Terraform, and Bitbucket.
• Coach and mentor junior developers
  

DECISION MAKING AND INFLUENCE:

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will help us extend and scale Signant’s engineering infrastructure. You will build an internal development platform that brings joy to your end users - developers like you - and you are passionate about multiplying engineering force through automation, orchestration, documentation, and productivity tools.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

Essential:

• You have a passion for reducing toil for yourself and your colleagues, and love solving problems with automation (e.g. with Python, Node, Bash, etc.)
• Experience with building systems with a service-oriented architecture, event driven architecture
• Understanding of software monitoring and metrics strategies using tools like CloudWatch, Honeycomb, Splunk
• Experience with CI/CD tools like CircleCI, TravisCI, AWS CodeBuild, GitLab CICD, Bitbucket Cloud
• Experience with IaC tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, Pulumi, CDK
• Experience with container tool chain - Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, EKS, ArgoCD
• Experience with serverless/stateless technologies / AWS services like Fargate, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB
• Project / code portfolio a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical major.
• Comparable experience will be considered
• 5+ years functioning as Software Engineer
