Job Description

Role Description

Role Proficiency:

Ensure adherence to defined test practices and processes to improve test coverage, quality, and efficiency across assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning and Design:

  • Prepare detailed test estimates, schedules, and test plans.
  • Identify business processes, perform risk analysis, and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Develop end-to-end test scenarios and Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Participate in test design reviews, walkthroughs, and stakeholder sign-offs.

Test Execution And Reporting

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Protractor.
  • Prepare and maintain test summary reports, defect logs, and related documentation.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and trend analysis for identified defects.
  • Publish RCA reports and propose preventive and corrective measures.
  • Track and report testing progress, coverage, and quality metrics.

Automation And CI/CD Implementation

  • Contribute to automation strategy, estimation, and framework design.
  • Drive implementation of CI/CD practices and ensure team adherence.
  • Recommend process improvements and alternate methods to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Collaboration And Leadership

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, and DevOps.
  • Lead testing activities, define QA tasks, and provide regular status updates.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members on QA methodologies and automation practices.
  • Contribute to organizational knowledge management through best practices, retrospectives, and lessons learned.

Required Skills And Competencies

  • Strong automation testing experience using Selenium WebDriver and Protractor.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, or TestRail).
  • Hands-on experience with version control tools such as GIT.
  • Expertise in Web UI and RESTful Web Services testing.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies, RCA techniques, and test design standards.
  • Excellent analytical, estimation, and reporting skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps environments.

Performance Indicators

  • Test case creation and execution productivity.
  • Test coverage and test case reuse percentage.
  • Defect leakage and defect acceptance ratio.
  • Test review and RCA efficiency.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5–6 years of relevant experience in automation testing.
  • Proven expertise in automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, and test process improvement.
