Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Services Team Lead to oversee the delivery of high-quality data services within our UK shift team. This role involves managing data operations, leading issue escalation processes, and liaising with global teams to ensure smooth handovers and effective resolution of queries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asset management data, OTC derivatives, and pricing methodologies, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team to deliver accurate and timely data services, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Oversee daily data feeds, pricing, manual data inputs, and exception report monitoring.
- Monitor team mailboxes and resolve data requests promptly using case management tools.
- Recalculate Private Equity prices following corporate or market events.
- Coordinate with global teams and partners on data handovers and query resolution.
- Support various projects including system changes, automation initiatives, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Coordinate client valuation data management and vendor issue resolution.
- Maintain regulatory data compliance, particularly around Pricing, Valuation, and Fair Value Levels (e.g., IFRS standards).
- Share specialist knowledge and provide expertise in data setup and quality control processes.
Required Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
- Strong PC skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively across multiple departments.
- Further education in Finance such as IOC (Investment Operations Certificate) or IMC (Investment Management Certificate).
- Significant experience handling asset management data including instrument, price, and index data.
- Thorough understanding of the impact of data quality on business consumers.
- Strong knowledge of OTC derivative products and valuation methodologies.
- Expertise in Corporate Action Event pricing methodologies.
- Broad investment process and product knowledge.
- Familiarity with Portfolio Accounting and Client Valuation reporting.
- Hands-on experience with systems including Aladdin, S&P (Markit) EDM, and T24.
- Experience working with Data Vendors such as Refinitiv Eikon & Datascope, Bloomberg, and ICE.
- Xceptor Practitioner Certification and practical experience configuring Xceptor in live environments.
Desirable Knowledge and Experience
- Degree in relevant fields such as Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas, macros, VBA, Power Query, and SQL.
- Experience modelling OTC instruments using third-party data tools.
- Proven track record working on data-intensive projects.
